Events & Festivals

Nestled in the lively Water Street Parking lot, the Lewis County Farmers Market radiates community spirit. In an exciting collaboration, the City of Weston has teamed up with the Farmers Market to bring you free live music every Friday evening from mid-May to late August, creating a festive atmosphere. Celebrate local craftsmanship at this thriving market, which proudly features a diverse selection of local growers, talented bakers, and skilled artisans. Whether you’re in the mood for fresh produce, delicious baked treats, or unique handcrafted items, the market invites you to “Grow it, Make it, or Bake it!” Come and savor the rich flavors and creativity that our community has to offer!

The Weston Fire Department organizes the annual 4th of July Celebration in Weston in collaboration with the City of Weston. The event begins with a parade at 6 p.m., which will be followed by a street fair on Water Street from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors, crafts, and live entertainment during the fair. The festivities will conclude with a fireworks display at 10:15 p.m. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community and celebrate the holiday together.

Unique Attractions

No visit to Weston is complete without a stop at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, the largest hand-cut stone building in the country. Open during the spring, summer, and fall months, the Asylum offers historic and paranormal tours, as well as seasonal festivals and family-friendly events.

Glass lovers will enjoy the West Virginia Museum of American Glass, which houses more than 20,000 unique pieces, including a stained glass dollhouse made by Lady Jane. With collections dating from 1860 to the present—especially strong in the 1900–1960 era—the museum currently showcases the stunning Steuben Collection.

Right down the road, Appalachian Glass offers live hand-blown glass demonstrations and a walk through the area's glassmaking history. Thousands of one-of-a-kind glass pieces are available on-site and across the nation in specialty shops. Their gift shop also features West Virginia-made jams, jellies, pottery, jewelry, and quilting.
